    Wave Draw
    Added: Monday, June 16th, 2003
    What kind of idea: second-hand

I have been trying to figure out a good way to build a drawing machine. Finally, Keith suggested just making a cart with a wheel attached directly to a motor. I changed it a little - I have a little cart with two motors, so it can change direction. The triangle cardboard shape gives me a place to tape the markers and since it only has two wheels, it will always rest on at least one of the markers. I wanted to be able to change the direction the machine draws its wavy line. I made two sensors and wrote a program that turns just motor "a" on briefly if you touch switch a, and turns just motor "b" on if you touch switch b. But, as you can see, it is still hard to keep it on the paper. It is more fun with larger paper!
