Take-apart Tape Decks

For the second Sound & Art workshop, co-presented by the Science Museum and the Minnesota Museum of American Ar, we met at the MMAA. At the end of the firstt workshop, each participant was given a toy tape recorder (thrift shop finds) and a blank tape, and instructions to record some sounds during the week.

For the workshop, we set up tables for working and for materials. Materials included wooden dowels, tape, glue, hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, etc), cardboard, markers, extra cassette tapes, hot glue, and some Cricket supplies.
