In this workshop we used the Crickets to explore three themes: movement, light, and sound.

Warm-Up Activity:
Social Crickets

To get started, we tried out Crickets that were pre-programmed to chirp. The Crickets communicated with each other by sending infrared signals, and harmonized the sound of their chirps.

Movement:
Chain Reaction with a Tale
Led by Margaret Pezalla-Granlund

We made a chain reaction that told a story.

Light:
Light, Color, Interaction
Led by Diane Willow

This group experimented with creating interactions using lights and sensors, combined with craft materials (such as mylar, straws, and translucent cups).

Sound:
Music, Sound, and Sensors
Led by Stephanie Hunt.

This group designed and programmed their own musical instruments.
