A full-day workshop that explored a new generation of hands-on activities, using digital technologies and everyday materials to integrate art with engineering. Participants experimented with MIT-developed Cricket technology to create interactive sculptures and musical instruments, and discussed how to start similar activities at their museums.

In this workshop we presented activities developed by the museums in the PIE Network, using new technologies from the MIT Media Lab. Participants chose from three hands-on activities (Light, Color, Interaction; Chain Reaction with a Tale; Music, Sound, and Sensors), then got back together to compare experiences and brainstorm future directions.
